We’ve Got You Covered
Picture this: you wake up in your tent to the patter of rain overhead. The creek nearby is running higher and louder than it did the night before. For many campers, a rainy morning is cause for panic. But inside your tent, everything is exactly as you left it—warm, dry, and safe from the elements. Your gear is untouched, your sleeping bag is cozy, and the only thing you have to think about is whether to drift back to sleep or start the morning coffee.
That’s not wishful thinking. That’s the reality when you camp with CORE. Instead of stressing over surprise storms or waking up to a soggy tent, you get to enjoy the trip you planned, no matter the weather. Nature can be unpredictable, but your camping trip shouldn’t have to be. That’s why we developed our H2O Block Technology to keep you dry and protected from uncertain weather.
Designed to keep water out of your tent without extra setup, we build our H2O Block Technology directly into your tent structure and materials. That means less last-minute stress and more confidence when you camp. Even first-time campers can feel like seasoned pros when they know their shelter is designed to handle rain, wind, and shifting conditions. From specialty seams designed to prevent leaks to advanced water-repellent fabrics, every detail in a CORE tent works together to make staying dry a guarantee, not a gamble. At CORE, we offer protection you can rely on, whether you’re camping close to home or waking up miles down a backcountry trail.
Introducing CORE’s H2O Block Technology

Water-Repellent Fabrics
When we developed our H2O Block Technology, we ensured every layer of the tent works together to keep you dry, even when the weather refuses to cooperate. The walls of each CORE tent are treated with a specialized PU (polyurethane) coating designed to repel water the moment it makes contact. Instead of soaking through or clinging to the fabric, raindrops bead up and roll off, preventing water pooling that can lead to seepage and leaks. This coating doesn’t just add weather resistance; it adds peace of mind, especially when storms surprise you in the middle of the night.
Multi-Layer Floors
In addition to our water-resistant walls, CORE reinforces every tent floor with a rugged combination of high-density polyethylene liner and low-density polyethylene surface coating. This multi-layer flooring system creates a durable, watertight barrier between you and the damp ground below. Whether you're camping on muddy terrain after a rainstorm or waking up to morning dew, our tent floors are designed to block moisture from creeping in.
Inverted Seams
Weatherproof fabrics are just the beginning of our anti-leak protection. CORE tents are designed by campers who have spent countless nights in the rain, wind, and everything in between. We know first-hand where tents fail and what it takes to keep you dry, because we’ve been there ourselves. That’s why we use an inverted seam stitching technique throughout our construction. By flipping the seams inward, we redirect rainwater away from the stitch lines and reinforce the points where fabric panels meet—creating multiple layers of defense.
Heat-Sealed Taped Seams
To add even more weather protection, we incorporate taped seams as well. Extra-wide, heavy-duty tape is heat-sealed directly to the fabric, creating a tough barrier that stands up to pounding rain and gusty winds.
Together, these technologies form a comprehensive weather-resistant system designed for campers who demand reliability. With CORE’s H2O Block Technology, you’re not just getting a tent, you’re getting a shelter built to stand strong, rain or shine.
Performance You Can Measure
At CORE, our tents offer a 1200mm hydrostatic head rating. That rating isn't just a number; it’s an industry benchmark used to measure a fabric’s ability to resist water under pressure. A 1200mm rating means the tent fabric can withstand the pressure of a 1.2-meter column of water pushing against it before any moisture starts to seep through.
What does that mean for you? It means our tent fabrics are designed to handle steady, prolonged rainfall, unexpected splashes, and the kind of consistent outdoor exposure you’ll encounter when camping. Whether you're facing a slow, soaking drizzle or a sudden burst of heavy rain, this level of performance ensures you stay dry, comfortable, and protected.
Simply put: we don’t just claim our tents are weatherproof. We’ve proven it through rigorous testing and real-world use.
Conquer the Weather with CORE
When it comes to weatherproofing, the way you set up your tent makes all the difference. Choose flat, level ground so your tent walls stand straight and taut. That allows water to bead up and run off smoothly. From there, stake everything out tightly so your tent stands strong against wind and weather. (Pro tip: in windy conditions, pitch the narrow end of your tent into the wind for maximum stability.)
Why a Footprint Matters
To ensure maximum protection against Mother Nature, don’t skip out on using a footprint. CORE footprints are intentionally sized just a bit smaller than the tent floor. This is another way CORE protects you from leaks. Using a tarp that’s too big can catch rainwater and channel it under your tent, leaving you stuck in a puddle. If you want a deeper dive into how footprints work and when to use one, check out our dedicated blog on footprints for more tips.
How Mesh Prevents Condensation
We also get asked: “If CORE tents are weatherproof, why do they have a mesh roof?” Beyond offering a clear night sky, the mesh is crucial for airflow. Condensation can leave you damp even without rain, so the panoramic mesh roof and adjustable floor vents help fresh air circulate and keep your sleeping space dry.
Getting the Most from Your Rainfly
When rain is in the forecast, that’s when the rainfly comes in. Acting as a protective roof over the mesh, the rainfly keeps water out while maintaining ventilation. Like the tent itself, CORE rainflies carry a 1200mm hydrostatic head rating. To get the best performance, make sure your rainfly is attached properly, and all guy lines are staked out taut. Use included awning poles to help channel water off the roof. With the right setup, you’ll get the full benefit of CORE’s H2O Block Technology—no fuss, no surprises, just a dry, comfortable night under the stars.
